These are our Starpath.club Community Guidelines. We often quote or paraphrase from the YouTube community, which has set the standard for what is acceptable on the Internet:

The Starpath .club mission

Starpath is intended to promote and showcase serious performing and visual artists who are academically or professionally trained. It is our goal to support performing and visual artists and their careers to help them build a following on the Internet. It is our intention to distinguish Starpath and our artists from the mediocrity that abounds the Internet, so that truly remarkable talent will get the recognition they deserve.

Starpath Club

Starpath.club is a invite community website of seriously trained performers and filmmakers where only our registered members are able to upload their videos -- that is why we call Starpath a "club.” While there is no fee or charges for club membership, your membership encourages you to evaluate videos submitted by other Starpath performing arts members that we will link you to. As such, Starpath functions almost like an extended classroom, providing a workshop environment of constructive feedback for you and your peers. Our intention is to feature your work once the Starpath community (not you) feels your video is quality and is ready. We find that many artists underestimate their good work and overestimate their poorer work. Our hope is that the peer-review concept will serve you and the Starpath community, so that ultimately when we feature videos to our general Internet viewing audience, we will be showcasing your best and the “best of the best.”

Respect the Starpath community

Starpath is built by and for primarily the academic community. As such, our standards are similar to the standards of your college, university or professional training academy. We ask you to respect yourself and your fellow artists with the same level of respect you would be expected to give a fellow student or professor.

Starpath Terms and Conditions

Starpath is transparent. You have the right to know everything about us and your relationship to us fully explained in our Terms and Conditions, which may be accessed at Starpath Terms and Conditions. Read them! (or have your lawyer read them!) They will tell you everything you will ever care to know about Starpath!

Starpath Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us. Please read our Privacy Policy, which may be accessed at Starpath Privacy Policy. Please read these over as well. Should you have any suggestions, please write to us for us to consider.

Pornography

Starpath is not about pornography. While we respect and understand that nudity oftentimes is used by artists as an artistic statement, you are encouraged to refrain from such use and to use common sense applying the standard of artistic expression. Is your video something you would show your grandmother? If you cannot adhere to this, even if it is a video of yourself, do not post it on Starpath. Starpath may make limited exceptions for performances in which some form nudity is acceptable, however, if this is your intent, you must obtain written permission by writing to Starpath with a request and explanation as to the artistic purpose in mind for such video. Starpath is under no obligation to provide such permission, and even permission to post videos is granted, Starpath may restrict the viewing of such sites by the age of the viewer. Also, be advised that we work closely with law enforcement and we report child exploitation.

Violent or graphic content

The policy we apply to pornography applies to violent or graphic content. Use the common sense approach we describe above about pornography.

Hateful content

“Our products are platforms for free expression. We don't support content that promotes or condones violence against individuals or groups based on race or ethnic origin, religion, disability, gender, age, nationality, veteran status, or sexual orientation/gender identity, or whose primary purpose is inciting hatred on the basis of these core characteristics. This can be a delicate balancing act, but if the primary purpose is to attack a protected group, the content crosses the line.”

Spam, misleading metadata, and scams

“Everyone hates spam. Don't create misleading descriptions, tags, titles, or thumbnails in order to increase views. It's not okay to post large amounts of untargeted, unwanted or repetitive content, including comments and private messages.”

Harmful or dangerous content

“Don't post videos that encourage others to do things that might cause them to get badly hurt, especially kids. Videos showing such harmful or dangerous acts may get age-restricted or removed depending on their severity.”

Copyright

“Respect copyright. Only upload videos that you made or that you're authorized to use. This means don't upload videos you didn't make, or use content in your videos that someone else owns the copyright to, such as music tracks, snippets of copyrighted programs, or videos made by other users, without necessary authorizations.”

Threats

“Things like predatory behavior, stalking, threats, harassment, intimidation, invading privacy, revealing other people's personal information, and inciting others to commit violent acts or to violate the Terms of Use are taken very seriously. Anyone caught doing these things may be permanently banned from Starpath.”

We take our guidelines seriously

Remember, artistic expression and the First Amendment are a tight balancing act against inappropriate behavior when it comes to the Internet. While your videos may not be illegal, or even inappropriate by some standards, they may cross the line of what we intend for the Starpath community. Keep in mind, Starpath is the final arbiter of whether anything you post when it comes to violations of our Community Guidelines. When your posts do violate our Community Guidelines, we will remove them or place them in restricted areas on our site. However, if there are serious or repeated violations, your account is subject to termination and you may be forbidden from creating any new accounts on Starpath. So use your artistic expression and First Amendment rights with prudence.
